01 / The brief
Build a fan-facing entertainment platform that covers an entire film franchise: news, a full movie database, a countdown to the next release, character profiles, a timeline, trailers and a ticket hub. It had to feel like a publication rather than a fan page, and it had to stay honest about what is confirmed and what is speculation.
02 / The problem
Two things made this more than a content site. First, a countdown that stays accurate for every visitor without a server. All date maths runs client-side against UTC and renders in the reader’s local zone. Second, an editorial taxonomy: every story is tagged confirmed, report or rumour, and that label travels with the story everywhere it appears. Most fan sites blur the line. This one refuses to.
03 / What I built
- Eight top-level sections across a full multi-page architecture
- Live release tracker computed client-side and timezone-safe
- Confirmed / Report / Rumour credibility label applied to every story
- Dual-mode timeline that switches between release order and in-universe chronology
- Trailer archive, character profiles and a ticket hub that links out rather than transacting
04 / Stack
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript
- TMDB API
- Netlify
05 / Selected screens
06 / Outcome
- 8Top-level sections
- 7News categories
- 2Timeline modes
- 8Character profiles
